Programme of Study

The 11 Plus tuition journey takes children through the necessary subject knowledge in English, Maths and Verbal Reasoning plus exam techniques required in order to successfully compete in the Essex 11 Plus exam.

Group Support

Children find the camaraderie of being with others who share the same goals motivating. Group tuition helps them enjoy the challenges of 11 plus work by fostering a ‘can do’ team spirit within a healthy air of friendly competition.

Get Results

Of course, there are never any guarantees to getting in to one of our grammar schools, but with this tuition, your child will be confident they have the necessary skills needed to be able to tackle the CSSE exam papers confidently.

Each class follows a set structure designed to continuously build on prior knowledge

Recap

Referring to and reminding children of what we have done before puts all learning in context and helps children understand and make strong links to new things.

Teaching

Each week children are introduced to new subject matter in the taught element of the lesson. Continuous modelling of how to be successful is key here.

Practise

Children are given plenty of time to practise the new skills they have learned with encouragement and support until they can succeed independently.

Homework

Homework to consolidate the current learning is given each week and children are given incentives to complete it. Reading is expected continuously.

Fees

Lesson fees are £28.50 each week and must be paid for in advance of each lesson.
They can be paid weekly, fortnightly, monthly or for each half term block.

Ruth is an amazing tutor, she motivates kids when they feel down.My daughter enjoyed her lessons.Her structure of planning lessons & mock tests are really worth it, she provides detailed reports ,so that we can figure out which areas we need to help my daughter.Ruth always does her best to respond parents questions. She is one of the best tutors I have come across .
I have been really lucky to have her tutoring my daughter.

It was fantastic working with Ruth. She was a great Tutor and really did give my daughter all she required to ace the 11+ exams. Constant lessons, home work, revisions, mock exams, it was well worth it.

My daughter has got her admission into year 7 and we are all elated.

Ruth was the most engaging and motivating 11+ tutor we were fortunate to meet and made a significant impact on our son’s development and confidence at school. Can't rate Ruth and Colchester 11+ highly enough! Ruth is friendly, caring for every single child in the class, and most importantly, a great teacher. Her approach has certainly helped our child regain confidence in himself, as he was just about to give up with the previous tutor. He joined the class with 6 months to the exam and managed to get into the Grammar school of his choice.

Ruth is an amazing tutor with great subject knowledge. Her online lessons are designed to inspire and motivate her pupils who are always challenged and pushed to achieve the best. Ruth's detailed and very specific feedback during my son's 11+ preparation was always tailored to his needs and abilities and turned out to be one of the main contributing factors to his success. The exercises, papers and book recommendations offered were also of the highest standard. My son
